Feeling safe in cozumel amidst covid-19
This trip to Mexico is not like any we have embarked on before. This time we are traveling to Cozumel, Mexico to complete the purchase of our beach villa only steps away from the crystal clear Caribbean water.
We are learning that as Cozumel newbies and the fact that we do not yet know spanish, everything is a long process.
Arrival Day, Thursday
Walk-thru of the villa and talking through the closing process meant we couldn’t make a run to Mega grocery store for the essentials until about 6 pm. Arriving home at 9:20 starving and it meant throwing together some quesadillas for dinner.

Saturday
As a result of our connections with the Rotary Club of Cozumel on previous vacations, we have developed friendships with several of the club members.
Today we joined them for the 14th food delivery for the Cozumel Community Kitchens that continue to support the people of Cozumel who are most in need in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is made possible by a continued collaboration between the Rotary Club of Cozumel and Fundacion Cozumel. This project enables the kitchens to deliver 2,500 rations of food for more than a thousand families Monday - Friday, to those who would otherwise go without. For more information click here. The continued collaboration of the organizations and citizens has been a true epitomization of “service above self.” For more information about Rotary International, click here.
